“..the father of bride just passed away, the wedding has been retimed tomorrow first thing in the morning.. right before funeral”, Ryerson called.
At almost midnight, it was the most heart-shattering phone call from my photographer. The wedding, which was supposed to be held next month, was only 6 hours away from notice. I couldn’t sleep. How could i. The image of Andaru & Tara rushed to prepare funeral and an emergency wedding ceremony came to mind.
I came with a bare camera and a monopod. There were no other videographers, no slider dolly, no steadicam, no lightings, none. I apologized to the couple for my unpreparedness. All our equipments were still overseas with La Cinema team members.
It was amazing how Andaru & Tara stood up hand in hand dealing with the situation. Friends and families came to them with open hands and warm hugs. There were no dry eyes as far as i observe. The father laid rest in peace next to a simple wedding table. Al-Quran and memorial picture stood next to each other. It was painful, yet beautiful to see. Andaru & Tara, you will always in our heart & mind. Thank you for reminding us that true love endures, both good times and hard times.
especially hard times..
